Nicolas Brochec is a composer and sound artist specializing in contemporary instrumental and electroacoustic music. He has learned from notorious contemporary music composers, notably Philippe Manoury, Martin Matalon, José Manuel López López, and Daniel D’Adamo. He has been commissioned by prestigious institutions such as La Philharmonie de Paris, Hammer Jack Yokohama (NHK member ensemble), and Improtech (IRCAM). His compositions have been recognized internationally, winning awards including the First Prize at Electric Sound’Ar-te (Portugal) and a Special Prize at the Ise-Shima competition (Japan).

He holds a PhD in Music Creativity and Environment from Tokyo University of the Arts, for which he received a Japanese Government Scholarship (MEXT). Alongside his artistic practice, he conducts intensive research in computer music. He regularly presents his work at leading international conferences such as ICMC, SMC, and NIME, as well as in Japan at JSSA.
